As part of the creation of hangar row” at Boston’s Logan International Airport, we introduced a concept that wowed passersby and garnered design awards and media attention: A full-size X‑ray image of a Boeing 777 being serviced by a crew of dedicated United mechanics and technicians inside.

What started as an assignment to brand’ the new hangar became a fun, collaborative, tribute to everyone who works so hard behind the scenes in what is an incredibly complex industry.

We worked with UK-based photographer Nick Veasey to create the image. He utilized a combination of CAD drawings from Boeing and the hangar architect, along with actual X-ray images of various models and mechanical elements.
